What Can You Do on Ionic?

At launch, Ionic supports lending and borrowing for the following assets on Metal L2:

• WETH (Wrapped ETH)

• USDC.e (Bridged USDC)

• MTL (Metal token)

You can supply any of these assets to earn interest, or borrow against your supplied collateral using Ionic’s overcollateralized model.

How It Works

➕ Supplying Assets

1. Head to the Markets tab on ionic.money

2. Click Manage next to the asset you want to supply

3. Approve and deposit your tokens

4. Start earning interest immediately, with full onchain transparency

You can optionally enable supplied assets as collateral, allowing you to borrow other assets against them.

➖ Borrowing Assets

1. Supply one or more assets and enable as collateral

2. Click Manage next to the asset you want to borrow

3. Enter your borrow amount (up to 70% Loan-to-Value cap)

4. Confirm the transaction and receive your borrowed asset instantly

Important: Avoid borrowing the maximum amount to reduce liquidation risk. Keep your Position Health above 1.0.

Risk Management & Liquidation

Ionic uses a robust risk model:

• LTV (Loan-to-Value) Cap: 70%

• Liquidation Threshold: Reached when position health drops to 1.0

• Liquidation Penalty: 15% incentive to liquidators, applied only to a portion of your collateral

You can always monitor your Position Health in the Dashboard. To improve it, you can repay part of your borrow or add more collateral.
